WHY ARTWORK, WHY NOT JUST DIGITALS?

When I visit my friends and family I love going through their albums and looking at all the portraits hang on their walls. We get to connect over the stories their photos tell. How often do we go through a Facebook album the same way? Never. An Instagram post comes and goes, never to be seen again. Our phones are full of photos of our families, but how often do they get to see that love? Studies have shown that families who display photos of their children create higher self-esteem in their kids and a better sense of belonging. Your family needs happy reminders of how important they are in this big wide world.

Photography really is a way for me to slow down time. And while I did figure out how to slow down the clock, I still don't have the power to go back in time with my own family. I don't have any photos of my parents or grandparents when they were children. They of course took their own photos but they were lost in a fire. Boy, I would give anything to see just one photo of my mom as a baby, to see if she looks like my daughter. For my daughter to see her grandmother throughout her incredible life. That's why it's so important to me to be able to preserve these memories for my clients now. So future generations can go back in time and because soon, we lose loved ones and all we wish for is more time. Those frozen moments are suddenly the most valuable thing we have.

Files corrupt, phones get stolen, social media platforms disappear. (Ever heard of Bebo? I didn't think so.) But the family album? Now that's the only item I'm grabbing in a fire. And this photographer archives your portraits in triplicate, just in case. You deserve more out of your investment than a jpeg on a lost flash drive.
